What is a REMAX Treat Accessibly Halloween Village?
For many kids with disabilities, Halloween stops at the bottom of the porch stairs. A Village moves every treat to where every child can reach it.
Treats every child can reach
Every station sits at the end of a driveway, at the curb or on a table at child height. No stairs.
Treats every child can enjoy
Include edible and non-edible treats, like stickers, kinetic sand, tattoos (not real ones 😉) or crayons.
Every kind of hello
Not every child can say “trick or treat.” A wave, a smile, a sign or a device is a perfect hello.
Every age, every pace
Teens and adults with disabilities trick-or-treat too. Quieter stations, no jump scares at the table, and a friendly person at every stop.
Every Treat Accessibly experience is free and open to every family.
Ten Villages. Ten ways to welcome every kid.
A Halifax head office, a Victoria shopping centre. A Toronto school street. An Orillia trunk-or-treat. A whole Brampton, Vancouver and Comox Valley neighbourhood and more. Each REMAX host across Canada is building the Village that fits their community. Find yours, then sign up to help.

3 ways to help
You don't have to be an accessibility expert. You just have to adapt
what you already know how to do.
Homeowners
Treat from the end of your driveway
Live on or near a Village street? On the day, hand out treats from the end of your driveway instead of your front door. Your REMAX host will share the plan and the timing.
Local businesses
Host a station or share the word
Host a treat station at the Village or at your storefront, donate non-edible treats, or put the Village flyer in your window.
Neighbours, friends and families
Give a few hours on the day
Help set up, welcome families, hand out treats or help take down. Teens aged 14 to 18 can earn volunteer hours when a parent or guardian registers them and oversees their action through our Teen Volunteering program.
One family. One driveway. 300,000 homes.
In 2017, our daughter Siena, then six, asked how a boy using a wheelchair could trick-or-treat with stairs at every door. So we moved our treats to the end of the driveway. Today, more than 300,000 homes do the same.

REMAX Treat Accessibly Halloween Villages are organized independently by each host REMAX agent or office, inspired and supported by Treat Accessibly. Each REMAX® Office is independently owned and operated.
